Ministry of Finance invites the most successful, innovative and inspiring projects implemented with the European Union (EU) co-funding to participate in the competition "RegioStars 2024". The aim of the competition is to promote the good practice examples in the investment of EU funds in national development. The competition will honour projects of high value that raise the level of well-being in local society, while at the same time educate and inspire other project implementers in Latvia and elsewhere in Europe.

“Support for business, economic development and infrastructure, renewed education, health and cultural institutions, investment in people's skills - these are just a few examples of where we see the European Union contributing to our country. Behind the EU projects are people who have created and implemented various progression ideas, and the results are making a real difference to the lives of the people of Latvia. On Latvia's 20th anniversary in the European Union, let us honour and thank the most outstanding implementers of EU Fund projects in Latvia,” expresses Minister of Finance Arvils Ašeradens.

This year, project implementers are invited to submit projects in the following five categories:

  1. A competitive and smart Europe

  2. A green Europe

  3. A connected Europe

  4. A social and inclusive Europe

  5. A Europe closer to the citizens
